Due to changes in scheduling, the CNN segment featuring Panthera’s Munyawana Leopard Project in South Africa will air this week, rather than last. The program will focus on Panthera's 'faux leopard fur' project, lead by Panthera Leopard Program Coordinator Tristan Dickerson, which is alleviating one of the most pressing threats to leopards in the region. Watch the segment to learn how Dickerson has developed a realistic faux fur and is working with leaders of South Africa's Shembe Baptist Church to replace the real leopard skins worn during cultural and religious celebrations by the followers of the religion (approximately 5 to 11 million members currently exist).
Check back with us for details on when to tune in for the CNN segment. The program will also be posted on www.cnn.com after it airs.
