Thanks to your support on #GivingTuesday, Panthera raised over $500,000 to protect big cats in the wild!
#GivingTuesday for Panthera
At the start of this year’s holiday season, Panthera participated in #GivingTuesday - a national day of giving that encourages charitable activities supporting nonprofits.
On #GivingTuesday, December 3rd, a generous group of donors agreed to match donations to Panthera up to $250,000, doubling the impact of contributions!
Thanks to an outstanding outpouring of support, Panthera raised over $250,000 for big cats on this one, single day, and with our match, more than $500,000 will now go directly to the field to support Panthera’s wild cat conservation work.
We are able to make this promise because our overhead and administrative expenses are covered by Mrs. Daphne Recanati Kaplan and Dr. Thomas S. Kaplan, Panthera’s Founder and Chairman.
Thank you for making a meaningful gift this holiday season, supporting Panthera on #GivingTuesday, and helping ensure a future for the world’s wild cats. We couldn’t do the work we do, without your support.
Keep up the momentum for big cats by donating now!Donate Now
Organized by 92nd Street Y and other major partners, #GivingTuesday is a campaign that aims to create a national day of charitable giving at the start of the holiday season, encouraging more, better and smarter giving on Tuesday, December 3rd -- the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Taking its place alongside annual shopping days like ‘Black Friday’ and ‘Cyber Monday,’ #GivingTuesday represents a call to action to show that holiday shopping can be about both giving and giving back. Harnessing the power of social media, charitable organizations and businesses around the nation are joining together to promote this day of giving.
Last year, #GivingTuesday was Panthera’s largest day in our fundraising history. Every dollar donated was matched for a total of $1,000,000 that went directly to the field to protect wild cats. This year, we've had more incredible success, raising more than $500,000 for big cats.
