Monk praying respectfully on snow leopard skin

Panthera Media Director, Steve Winter, took this photo while on a National Geographic expedition to capture images of the snow leopard in Asia. This image shows a monk praying on a snow leopard skin, and is a wonderful illustration of one monk carrying out the Dalai Lama's wish for people to demonstrate respect for animals and the environment by not hunting snow leopards for their skins.

Be sure to see what Panthera is doing in China to save the snow leopard, including carrying out community based snow leopard monitoring with Buddhist monasteries as the focal points.
