At present, Panthera’s core focus is the protection of the world’s largest, most wide-ranging and most imperiled cat species and the expansive human and biological landscapes where they live and move. As iconic, umbrella species, successful conservation of these species means protecting entire landscapes, but these landscapes often include many other wild cat species about which very little is known. Through our grants programs, Panthera remains dedicated to funding initiatives and learning more about all the world’s wild cat species.
