Carolina Soto Vargas is the Program Manager for Panthera’s Northern South America Jaguar Program. Originally from Colombia, Carolina studied Biology at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. In 2007, Carolina served as a botany project research assistant at the Chemistry Laboratory of Bioactive Natural Products at Brazil’s Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Following graduation, she worked as a Lab Technician at Quimbaya Resources Exploration, conducting Global Positioning System and Real Time Kinematics research. Carolina’s primary interest is in the application of Geographic Information System technologies to the field of conservation.
