Franklin Castaneda

Franklin Castaneda is the Country Director for Panthera’s Jaguar Program based in Honduras. As the recipient of a number of research and educational scholarships from the Smithsonian Institute, Organization for Tropical Studies, IUCN, World Bank, German Academic Exchange Service, Wildlife Conservation Society, Ideawild and others, Franklin attended Honduran National University for his undergraduate degree and the University of Costa Rica for his Master’s degree in Biology. Since then, Franklin has held positions within various non-governmental organizations, prívate consulting companies and government departments, including Partners in Wild Cats Conservation, the Honduran National Wildlife and Protected Areas Department, United Nations Development Programme, the Honduran Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, USAID, and a ICF/UNESCO joint World Heritage project.
