As Panthera’s Senior Grant Writer, Julie Hughes works with Panthera’s scientists and Development team to raise federal and foundation resources that aid Panthera’s critical wild cat conservation programs across the globe. Her inveterate love of animals and nature has led Julie to dedicate her 20-year career to fundraising for wildlife and environmental conservation organizations. Before joining Panthera, Julie spent a decade fundraising for EcoHealth Alliance, an international public health and conservation NGO based in New York.
An avid reader and writer, Julie recently received a Master’s degree in Literature from Queens College in New York, NY. Julie has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Americas, and Asia but always enjoys returning home to the borough in which she was proudly born and raised - Queens, NY - where she shares her home with a rescued Siberian Husky, an aggressive rabbit, a hyperactive chinchilla, and an ornery hedgehog. Julie is delighted to join Panthera’s team to help secure the resources that make Panthera’s critical mission possible.
