Lines of people formed to greet Lama at religious festival, India

On a research trip to Tajikistan and India this summer, Panthera's Snow Leopard Program Executive Director, Dr. Tom McCarthy, happened upon a religious festival as he emerged from a trek in the mountains while visiting India's Ulley Village. Tom came upon the festival just minutes before the arrival of the guest of honor, one of India's highest-ranking Lamas, as the Lama passed through the city of Ladakh, stopping at every village along the way.
