Panthera's Lion and Cheetah Programs Director shares an unforgettable lion sighting with the world--and celebrates the young male's budding partnership with another male. Forming a coalition increases Sintika's chances of succeeding as an adult. Read the whole story on our blog.
It’s World Lion Day! We are keeping tabs on Sintika, a young male who recently dispersed from his home in Mudumu, Namibia, to find new territory of his own. We put a radio collar on Sintika and have been following his story as he moves from his protected area in Mudumu into a dangerous world faced with many threats: poachers, automobiles, and retaliatory killing primary among them.
Panthera and its partners across Africa are working to reduce those threats and #letlionslive. We hope you’ll join us today and throughout the year by signing up for our email list with the form above. We’ll send you periodic updates about our work to recover dwindling lion populations and how you can help.
Every day is Lion Day at Panthera. Will you Join the Pride?
